Hi, I am Dr. Alma. I have taught English at the elementary and middle school level, as well as college level English reading and writing, served as a Reading Specialist and English as a Second Language Teacher. I am also a native Spanish speaker and possess a Bilingual Certificate of Competence and have taught Spanish as a Second Language. I hold a Doctorate in Education, a Master's in Reading, and a Bachelors in Liberal Studies. 

My teaching credentials include K-12 Multiple Subjects and Specialist Instruction (Reading). As an experienced educator, I have taught both student groups and students one-on-one, including students with special needs and gifted. 

I believe every student has the unique capacity to develop their intellectual abilities and follow their dreams. I encourage students to actively engage in learning, make connections across concepts, express themselves fluently and creatively, and seek out innovative solutions for everyday challenges. I am always open to ways to improve my teaching skills, I welcome feedback from students and parents.
